SUMMARY:Ardgarten Loop
DESCRIPTION:~20 mile loop clockwise around the Ardgarten peninsula\, mostly forest track/fire road\, with an entertaining rough trail climb and descent from the southern most point into Lochgoilhead before winching up and over the Rest And Be Thankful.  CX friendly\, as long as you don’t mind your eyeballs getting rattled out of your head on the descents.  Big views\, and the forecast is for blue skies – what could possibly go wrong?! \nPotential stop for toilets and corner shop at Lochgoilhead\, post ride refreshments (and possibly pre-ride bacon rolls?!) available at the Three Villages community cafe in Arrochar. \nGetting there: from Glasgow\, drive out through Arrochar and follow the A83 around the end of Loch Long.  The road goes NW; go past Forest Holidays and keep your eyes open for the Ardgarten forest carpark on the left.  Last time I visted\, there was a good toilet block that doubled as a changing room. \nPrevious chat here.
