SUMMARY:Deadwater 100 Race @ Kielder
DESCRIPTION:Join some other GMBCers for this event run by Cold Brew Events \nDeadwater 100 will host the 2021 MTB Marathon British Champs.  This will be alongside the some other grueling rides.  You’ll have a choice of entering: \n\nMTB Marathon British Champs 100km (2 laps)\n100 mile race (3 laps)\n100km sportive (2 laps)\n\nYou’ll need a British Cycling race licence for the British Champs but the other two are open to anyone with the legs to take them on. \nFor more information or to enter go to: https://deadwater100.com/ \nWhen \nSaturday 7th Aug 2021 \nWhere \nKielder Castle\, Kielder\, Northumberland\, NE48 1ER. \nWhat are the distances? \nThe British Championships for both males and females will be 100km. \nIn addition to the British Champs there are two rides which anyone can enter.  There is a 100km sportive and a 100 mile race. \nMarshals will be positioned all along the race route for the safety of the riders.  There will be various feed stations to top up your water and get some nibbles.  You need to carry everything you normally would for such a long distance ride. \nHow much? \n100km British Championship: £50 \n100km sportive: £40 \n100 mile race: £50 \nEntry includes an event memento\, safety team\, marshalled and sign posted route\, comms cover\, feed/water stations\, lots of prize categories for the race\, bucket fulls of climbing. \nEvent Schedule \nFriday: \n16:00-21:00 – Registration open in Kielder Castle \nSaturday: \n06:00 – Registration opens in Kielder Castle \n07:30 – Registration closes \n7:45 – Safety briefing \n08:00 – Start of Deadwater 100 \nParking \nThere are a number of Forestry Commission car parks near to the castle with ample amounts of space.  Remember to pay and display as vehicles do get checked by FC staff.  If you are staying on Kielder campsite then you’re already parked and a stones throw away from the castle. \nRegistration \nRegistration will take place at Kielder Castle which can be easily found from the main road or anywhere in the Kielder area.  Postcode NE44 1ER \nRoute \n\n\n\nThe route revolves around a single 31 mile lap \nFeed Station \nThere will several feed stations on the course.  These will be highlighted in the info pack send out by email 1 week before the event. \nTiming \nWe will record finish times and will make the results available after the event on the website. Please ensure your run number is visible after you cross the finish line. If you drop out of the event at any time after you have registered and collected your number\, then you must go to the nearest checkpoint/marshal or Registration and let them know you are dropping out.  Everyone needs to sign out whether you finished or not. \nMore good news! \nIt’s really\, really going to hurt.
