SUMMARY:Sat 23rd July - 3 Pistes Ride
DESCRIPTION:Hi Folks \nAs some of you will know I have not been around the club for a while.\nI wanted to post this road ride up to see if there is much interest.\nI was planning to ride the 3-Piste route on Sat 23rd July\, it is the route used for the last few years in May for the official event. 100 miles in total\, Pitlochry to Aviemore via Glenshee and The Lecht.\nI have wanted to do it but was never organised in time or the weather was poor. \nNOTE\, I will cancel this event if the weather is poor\, not worth doing in poor weather. \nI have not\, and will not have had\, much training so it will be a casual pace to enjoy the scenery on route\, stop off for refreshments along the way. More emphasis on it being a social ride. \nI plan to stay over in Aviemore on the Sat night\, I can look into accommodation once I know the interested numbers. \nRemember it is weather dependant. \nThe reason for this ride on this date? SUMMARY:Devil’s Staircase/ Ciaran Path - Kinlochleven
DESCRIPTION:Heading to Glencoe / KLL tomorrow morning for 9.30/9.45\, ready to ride at 10am . Plan is to start in the car park at Altnafeadh (Link to map) and head up the Devil’s Staircase\, over to the dam and down Ciaran path. \nThe riding will be in difficult and remote terrain\, with rocky trails\, big climbs and hike a bike. A good level of fitness is required for this ride. You also need spares\, tools\, clothing\, food & water for a day out in the hills. Please get in touch if you need more information or if you’re unsure of what’s involved. I’ll also be keeping an eye on the weather forecast. It looks warm but there will be showers so be prepared. \nMeet at Altanfeadh car park ready to ride for 10am. If we stick to the basic Devil’s Stair Case / Blackwater Dam / KLL / Fire-road of Dispair / Devil’s staircase route I’d expects it to take 4-6hrs\, possibly longer if we do any extras.
