Beginner Friendly/Introductory Ride – Cathkin Braes 08/05/24 1930

Been a while since we ran one of these, but come and join us at Cathkin Braes for a Beginner friendly/Introductory Ride. The pace will be nice and slow with plenty of time for chat and looking at stuff. Of course if you want to come and fly round everything we’ll wave at you as you lap us
Bring your helmet and a light in case we get caught out by the dark

Beginner / Introductory Ride – 15th February 2023 @ 7pm

Love is in the air! Love for Bikes!

Bring your bike, your helmet, your lights and your good self to the lower car park at Cathkin Braes for a spin.

Pace will be social and slow – pushing is acceptable, quitting is not!

We’ll likely be doing a lap of the XC loop and one or two of the middle trails depending on time.

Happy New Year!

Was Santa good to you and brought you a new bike/ other kit you want to show off? How about working off some of those chocolates and sweeties? Maybe it’s “new year, new you” and you want to get out there and start? Come join me at Cathkin Braes for the first Beginner/Introductory ride of 2023!

Please remember your helmet and a light!

We’ll be having a play in the pump track/skills loop, doing a full lap of the red XC loop and maybe some of the trails in the middle, sticking to the main trail system.

Meetup at the lower car park for 7pm

Urgent: SXC Marshalls Needed

Please see below for a request for marshalls for two upcoming races at Cathkin Braes from the organising SXC committee via Debbie Houston at Dales Cycles:

“I’m on the hunt for marshals for our two events at Cathkin Braes, the first is our own SXC round on the 22nd of this month for which I need folks to sign up for asap. The next is the British Champs event on the 16th & 17th of July for which I’m looking to get in the region of 100 marshals.
There is a page to sign up on the sxc.org.uk  website, go to contact and scroll down, sign up and click on Cathkin Braes.
Volunteers would need to be at marshal briefing in race village (top carpark at Cathkin Braes) for 8.30am and would be on course until approximately 4pm and lunch will be provided.
If you could contact any groups you’re involved with or even if there are any staff that might be able to help out I would appreciate it.
Kind Regards
Jason
SXC Committee”
