Plan is to have a night club ride up the Old Kilpatrick hills. Would leave from the car park behind Old Kilpatrick Station (If this suits everyone) and head up the Humphrey Road, then over some nice single track on the various routes heading over the top of the hill from what we call The Tipping Point. Me and Tom have been hatching a plan for a West-coast adventure next weekend. It involves an evening ferry (18.40) from Ardrossan to Campbelltown on the Friday night (16th May) then an overnight stay in the backpacker place in Campbeltown. With an early start on the Saturday, we’ll follow the kintyre way up to Claonaig then get the 16.20 ferry to Lochranza, 20mile cycle over a hill to Brodick, last ferry (19.20) back to Ardrossan for chips and medals. Due to more interest, I am putting this option up for Sunday. The Menteiths is a loop from Aberfoyle over to Loch Venacher returning through the forest. Riding is mixed with open hill-side, single track and forest roads. For those reasonably new to MTB this is a great opportunity to get out into the countryside and experience some varied XC riding.
