Hi,

If ,like me, you haven’t ridden a hundred miles in a day for a while and think its time, with seven weeks to go before this ride, that you put in a few miles then lets get organised.

Gerry and I were going to do the don smith memorial ride next sunday from lochwinnoch. There’s a hardcore 70 miler and a shorter 45er or so which we will do. Costs eight pounds with money going to brave heart cycling fund . Don is the dad of Brian smith who rode for Motorola with lance Armstrong on the nineties. Brian now commentates on Eurosport . Gerry and I will be riding out to Johnstone and riding the rest of the way on the cycle path to make it a quite flat ninety miles. South eiders could join @ Johnstone or drive down. Pace 15-16 mph. Start time is ten o clock do gerry and I will leave at eight Johnstone around 9.15

Two weeks later I propose a loch katrine ride on either the Saturday or Sunday

Let me know if you are up for either

P.s. these are training runs at an even pace and not desperado days out…
