Dumyat Sunday Ride
October 6, 2013 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
- Where: Bridge of Allan train station car park – accessible from Glasgow without a car in this case.
- When: 10:30am
- What to expect: Fairly stiff climbing to start with, woodland singletrack heading up on to Dumyat. Could be a bit breezy on top. Parts of the route could be wet with the recent rain but large chunks of the ride are through woodland so should be a bit drier and sheltered. Dumyat is classic Scottish mountain biking; open moorland, some steep/rocky sections up top and big views (hopefully, if the forecasted light rain clears). After the climb there’s a fun descent (steep in places, flowy in others) and a singletrack ride to an awesone cafe stop.
After lunch/cake we’ll climb part way back up to take in some more woodland singletrack before descending back to Bridge of Allan for:
- ice cream
- chips
- beer
- banter
- all of the above
Distance probably about 30km, duration: 4-5 hours including stops. If you can’t stay for the full ride there are various options to bail out. As usual; no helment, no ride.
