Easter Trip – Braemar

April 17, 2014 @ 8:00 am - April 21, 2014 @ 5:00 pm

The plan this Easter is to head to Braemar for some riding in the Cairngorms. There’s loads to do around there and routes / groups will be planned to suit riders and the conditions.

I have provisionally booked accommodation at Braemar Lodge Bunkhouse (http://www.braemarlodge.co.uk/bunk-house) from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th (4 nights). It sleeps up to 12 and is £15ppn. There is self catering facilities and they can also do meals or breakfasts as required.

Based on my previous post about this Graham, Barry & Ieva have said their up for it. If you are interested in going and want to stay at the bunkhouse please post up here by Monday 27th January and let me know. I need to confirm bunkhouse numbers on the Tuesday and pay a deposit, so I’ll need £15 a head for the deposit next week also.

The place the bunkhouse is at also has more luxurious accommodation. So if anyone wants to join for rides but stay elsewhere that’s absolutely fine.

Looking forward to it already!

Tom

  1. Hi Tom

Happy to join up for the Easter trip. Can you put me down for a bunk please if there is availability.

    • Hi Tom

Do you know if there are any spaces left? I have a mate who has just had a Easter trip to Torridon cancelled and she is looking to get an Easter trip in.

  6. Yep, there’s a youth hostel near by. Let’s see how many there are by next monday, if there’s a load more people I can investigate further. I didn’t get a massive response to the orginal post so I thought 12 seemed like a reasonable number!

  7. Thanks for saving me a slot, really looking forward to this*

*If the weather’s crap, you will carry the blame for eternity!

  8. Hi guys I’m a newbie, is it alright if I put my name down?

I’ve never taken my bike to the Cairngorms so would love to get involved.

  9. In that case sign me up!
Good to have something to look forward to, eases the January blues.

  12. Hi Everyone,

I’m planning on car hire from 17 to 21/22 of April. This will allow me to meet you on 18 and 19 at Braemar. I will be back in Glasgow on Sunday and on Monday I’m going for another ride but this time in a different place. So if anyone is willing to share fuel or/and hire costs and would like to drive with me to Braemar on Friday morning and eventually be back in Glasgow on Saturday evening I have one seat free (only one because it is a 2 seats Mini Van e.g. Citroen Berlingo, Vauxhuall Combo).
In Braemar I will probably stay in BB as all places in bunk are taken.

    Cheers
