  1. Tom/ Greg,

Spoke to Ross last night. He’s not up for a Saturday early start. Since both Ross and Greg would like to lift share, I guess that means accommodation for the Friday and Saturday night. Can you confirm Greg?

As for lifts, I can fit me plus 2 in my car. Or we can split in to groups of 2 if 4 folk are looking to lift share.

Ross is off on the Friday and I could conceivably get away from work at 3ish…

  2. Just an update on this. A few of us are staying at YHA Patterdale on the Fri / Saturday nights. Others will be down for a day ride on the Saturday. If anyone else is interested in accommodation let me know.

  3. Gents,
Friday nights not really an option for me, I’ll probably travel down with Des and Robin on the Saturday morning. Any ideas on routes as yet, Tom?.

    Greg.

  4. We’re planning on leaving the shire at 7am on saturday, so will be at Patterdale about 9.30. Weather not looking too great, looks like a cold one.

  5. Nice one Greg. I’ve been having a look at routes. The forecast is for it to get a bit warmer towards the end of the week but realistacally there will probably still be quite a lot of snow & ice on the higher routes. The High Street and Hellvlyn rides starting from Patterdale might be a bit ambitious!

There is a route in the Vetebrate Publishing guide for the lakes called Ullswater Singletrack that looks good and quite good and starts from Patterdale. There is also some stuff down towards Ambleside that’s a bit lower down. I have the OS maps as well so we can make some stuff up or tags bits on depending how it looks.

  6. Sounds ideal, Tom. Just need to keep helvellyn and dollywagon pike for later in the year!.
