Perthshire Autumn Ride
October 12, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm
UPDATE : Date for this confirmed as Saturday 12-Oct, the weather looks “dry” at the moment. Sunday’s weather forecast to be showery and as we’ll be on exposed sections I’d prefer to avoid the chance of a shower rattling through.
Start point: Blair Atholl visitor centre car park (just off the main road over the bridge). Here;
https://w3w.co/proved.radio.unicorns
Start time: ready to ride 10am – not turn up at 10am and faff for 30mins
Route: 27-30km, (sorry, not 40km as originally quoted). 3 main climbs (2974 feet in total), 3 main descents and a cafe finish at the Watermill. Max elevation 1400 feet (425 metres). There are bail out options at 7km, 15km and 18km. There’s no food en route so take sandwiches, snacks, foie gras, lobster bisque, whatever you fancy. Terrain is a mix of moorland trail, fireroad, singletrack and steep (possibly muddy) enduro singletrack.
We’ll probably have a varied range of abilities and fitnesses so be prepared to be social and patient. If you want to ride “full gas” then I’ll tell you where to go. The expectation is that each rider is self-sufficient in terms of food, drink, clothing, spares, tools etc – of course we’ll all look out for each other but you’re all responsible for yourselves.
No helmet, no ride. Duh.
