“Summer” big ride #1: Cairngorm Loop Reprise (but this time a little bit shorter)

July 25, 2015 @ 6:15 am - 11:00 pm

Because the Cairngorm loop was so good last time (http://www.gmbc.org.uk/cairngorm-loop-ride-report/) I’ve decided to do it again, but only in a day and a slightly shorter distance – circa 200km.

Route will be http://www.cairngormsloop.net/map.html but only the ‘outer loop’ but also taking in Rothiemuchus and Glenmore Lodge. Means there is a little but less hike a bike too.

6.15 am start (wheels turning) from Blair Atholl in order to make the most of the daylight – bring lights in case we run late.

Refuel in Tomintoul and Braemar.

Route: http://my.viewranger.com/route/preview/NTU0NTUw

118 miles all in – we’ll be riding at a solid pace with as few stops as possible.

  1. Robin…..don’t be afraid. I wouldn’t seriously consider attempting this in a day. I will investigate the posibility of doing the first bit/part route at a fast pace, then leaving you to escape earth’s gravity, and go into orbit!

  2. Am in for this mate…. 😉
