Hey. Anybody recommend some good bothy bike routes for me to take on in 2013. I know where all the Scottish bothies are located but looking for some feedback on the best routes to link up with overnight bothy stays.

I did a bothy ride last month. It’s basically the Tour de Ben Nevis route, which is also in the Phil McKane Scottish Trails Book (vol 1). It can be done as an over-nighter using the Meanach or Larrig Bothies. The riding is good, about 70km all in of varied terrain.

The same book also suggests a couple of bothy options on a route around Ben Alder.

I did the Culra Bothy/Ben Alder trip last year: http://www.gmbc.org.uk/culra-bothy-weekend-8-10th-april/ and there are photos too. In the Phil McKane book there is also the Faindouran bothy on the Ben Avon loop. Another suggestion is in the Burma Road area.
