Muirshiel Country Park ride this Sunday 25/5/14

Hi everyone,
Having been off my mountain bike for nearly two months, I am planning to do a relatively long but non-technical mountain bike ride this Sunday. Ruairidh did this ride with me earlier in the year and I think it was quite a good day out.
Ideally we would meet in Bridge of Weir and make our way up to Muirshiel Country Park via Kilmacolm or take the scenic route (Bog) through Locher Wood.

Leave a comment or send me a text if you fancy coming along.

Muirshiel Snow Ride

Last minute plan to ride up to Muirshiel Country Park tomorrow to have a play in the snow. I’m not sure there will be any takers with the normal Sunday mugdock ride and Stuart’s ride below. But if anyone is interested I’m planning on leaving Bridge of Weir around 9.30 and heading up to Muirshiel on the road, cutting through Barnbrock Farm and cycling/pushing onto Windy hill. It’s not a technical ride but conditions could be challenging.

If that sounds like your cup of tea please drop me a text on oh-7-seven-tree-too-to-nine-9-seven-five-tree or post up on Facebook (as I won’t be able to access WordPress later today).

Sunday ride at 10am

I’m planning on doing Dumgoyne (the hill) on Sunday, aiming to leave M and B car park at 10am sharpish. The forecast looks dry but quite cold so perfect weather for a hill climb!
Remember to bring some food for the top.

Hopefully get a good crowd out.

Cheers

Jack

Saturday Morning Ride

Any interest in a local ride on Saturday morning?

I am aiming to be at the car park ready to ride for 10am.

We’ll head out for a couple of hours at a fairly relaxed paced and try and burn off some of the excesses from the past couple of days.

(Turkey sandwiches optional)

(but advised)

Friday morning ride

Hi all, I’m working evenings this week so won’t be out for the usual club runs. Planning on going to Mugdock on Friday if anyone is free and fancies a wee spin.

I’ll be at the usual car park for about 11.00am if anyone is around.

Pre-AGM cycle

Planning on heading out at 4.30/5pm tomorrow for a couple of hours before the AGM.

Leave me a message here or on facebook if your coming along and i’ll wait at the usual car park for you.

Cheers

Jack

2/10/12 Ride (Only a bit wet)

A rather poorly attended Tuesday evening ride with only four of us out, for what was a (mostly) dry and reasonably warm winters night. Dean, Donald, myself and another rider I can’t recall rode along the westie, climbing up just to the top of Rocky and Rooty. The route down was littered with a number of fallen branches which made some of the normal lines much more interesting than normal.

Riverside wasn’t in the best shape with some sections having become rather boggy again (more trail maintenance required i think). At this point a maxle stripping caused our party to reduce to three and after saying our goodbyes, we continued on the westie to the Glengoyne distillery and came back along the pipe track which took about an hour.

We had just climbed the hill between Strathblane and Mugdock when the heavens opened and we were totally soaked. At this point we decided that we couldn’t get any wetter and just headed down the normal route to Milngavie: Snaky et al.
