Myself and Alison are planning to ride this on Sunday (27th May), 09:30AM prompt start at the car park nearest Achleum. The plan is to take in Mullach Clach a Bhlair and Sgor Gaoith (after Sanny marked-up my map a couple of years ago). My folks will be staying in the area for most of that weekend (and the following weekend) and we will be staying with them. If anyone fancies the Sunday ride then please let me know asap.

Have a look at the snow levels as The Cairngorms looked blanketed from the viewpoint of Am Bodach in the Mamores yesterday when I was up there riding. The two you have planned can hold the snow for a while on the plateau but hopefully you’ll be ok.

How was it? Is it easy to get to the summits of Mullach Clach a Bhlair and Sgor Gaoith? Do the new water bars ruin the decent of CBM?

Hi Dene,
The water bars made a lot of the descent unrideable (at least for me as someone who doesn’t do technical!). Going back down the doubletrack is an option but not so much fun – its a fairly long, steep climb to get there in the first place.
