Aberfoyle/Finglas – Sunday – 19th April

All, Alison & myself will be riding from Aberfoyle town centre – main car park at the tourist information centre. Leaving 10.30am prompt. I will be riding out from the house (on mtb) and will be at the bridge at the Kirki Puffer (Kirkintilloch) at 8.00am – riding out via Crow/Killearn/Gartmore, if anyone wants to join me. Finglas/Aberfoyle will be at the pace of the slowest rider and faster riders can do some hill repeats sections – never getting too far in front. Planning to ride Finglass anti-clockwise. Bring food/warm clothes as the route is exposed and bail-out options are minimum. Limited options for café stops too – but might be able to get a bowl of chips at the Byre on the way back. Please let us know via reply if u want to join us. Looking forward to it.

Drumlanrig – Sat 15th Nov @10am (Prompt – Ready to Ride)

Alison & I are planning to ride Drumlanrig on Saturday 15th Nov (unless the weather is dire). Meeting at 10am – Prompt – ready to ride, from the main car park. We need to be back on the road at 3pm as heading on down to the Lakes. Nothing too fast/techy as been loaded with the flu (at least that is my excuse). Not planning a café stop either. Please let us know if you are interested.

Ben Lawers Road Ride ~95 miles – 14th Sept

Hi,

Simon Simpson, Chris Johnstone and myself are doing Ben Lawers road ride ~95 miles on 14th Sept. Likely to be a day ride, but if people are interested then it could be extended to a weekend, possibly staying at the bunkhouse in Weem. Plan is start in Aberfedly, via Amulree, South Loch Tay, Killin, water board road to Glen Lyon, Ben Lawers road, Fearnan, Dull and Weem.

see http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/279414331

Exact meeting time/location will be confirmed closer to the time. The start time will be ready to ride – so no faffing or waiting around for people to arrive.

Please get in touch  if you want to join us. Unless the weather looks really bad the ride will happen. Cheers Gerry

BBQ Utensils/Tray

I picked up some stuff that was left from the BBQ. Baking Tray (Luke?), Utensils (Graeme?). Give me a shout and I can drop off in Lnz/Kirki. Great night, thanks to those who came along.

GMBC Mugs & Buffs – for AGM

MUGS

The GMBC mugs have arrived and they look fantastic. I will have them at the AGM and they are £3 each. I might have a couple spare too for anyone that hasn’t pre-ordered. Also, I can do a repeat order if there is a demand for more. For the record, I ordered 36 mugs for £100 (£90 mugs + £10 postage & packaging). This makes the unit cost £2.78 per mug, and to avoid giving out change each mug will come with a ‘free’ Freddo chocolate bar.

25 Year Anniversary Buffs

Graham Anderton has organised the buffs. They are ~£10 each. As we only have a limited number then a raffle of names will be drawn at the AGM, for those that want to purchase a buff.

Mugdock Ride – Sat 27th Oct

A few folks are leaving the usual Stewart Street car park at 10:30am on Saturday (27th Oct), with a cafe stop. Myself & Alison will be out but along a bit later (so don’t wait). We will catch up somewhere, probably at the cafe stop. We are heading out on Saturday as the weather looks much better than Sunday. Hopefully, some folks will be out on Sunday too.
