cyclocross racing – questions

I know its a few months til the season starts but need to be prepared… first thing is a race licence to save a few quid on entries, what type do you need and any idea on cost? also, looking at getting some tyres – the schwalbe cx pros were good, maybe a little narrow for courses like mugdock – any other recommendations? (thinking hutchison bulldogs or maybe the new IRD crossfires in blinging white!)

About StephenM

Part of the paisley peleton, kidding on to be a cyclocrosser as it is more socially acceptable than a roadie?... not enough much dirt, but way too much tarmac :-) my bike is often found outside coffee shops around renfrewshire or gleaming on the trails when it should be proper muddy!

  1. I will be doing the cyclocross races too. No idea about tyres, will use whatever I’ve got.
I don’t think I remember having a race license last year – I certainly didn’t buy a license but I might have paid an extra 50p or something on entry. Looking forward to them and also happy to share lifts if need be (elizabeth_a_odonnell@hotmail.com)
