Disk replacement

My Avid Juicy 7s are due for an upgrade sometime soon, anybody got any preferences?

Shimano SLX are generally flavour of the month but what ones, M666 or push the boat out with a set of M988s?

Any takers for Magura or Hope?

Cheers

  1. Steve – the new 2012 Deore’s seem to get rave reviews – that’s where my money would go…. great deals online and of course Alpine do their best to get us a bargain, plus fit them.

Have a wee search on singletrackworld.com

    Cheers

    • id go as far to say you would be very pleased with shimano brakes i had avids on my rockhopper when i had and i didnt get on brilliantly with them, my shimano XT’s are great however, merlin always worth a look

  2. Shimano Brakes are great! But the Ice Tec pads can be pretty steep £££!

  3. Shimano 596 deore get good right up.i swore by my Hayes el caminos but swapped out for the 596 good feel,1 finger levers,pre-bled straight from box, good modulation ,easy to bleed.cheap as chips £55-60 a side not excessively light only talking gms between them and xtr .
