Easter 2014 Trip?

Last Easter a big group ventured to Skye to enjoy the scenery and ride some amazing trails. 2014 is fast approaching so any ideas for next Easter?

Just to remind everyone that weather is always sunny at Easter I’ve stuck a couple of photos from the Quirrang and Durnish Peninsula rides on Skye. A few ideas:

  • Somewhere in the Cairngroms
  • Torridon (although we did that last May in foul weather)
  • Down south, maybe the Lakes
  •  ???

It would be good to get something booked up in January before all the respectable accomodation is gone!

  1. I did a STW ride a good few years back in the Angus glens, stayed at bunkhouse in Glen Clova, rode Kilbo path on the Saturday, and bachnagairn-loch muick-capel mounth on the Sunday. Was a fine weekend, and one I’d be keen to repeat.

I was thinking of torridon too! as it’s 3 years since I’ve rode there, and it was on the HT, love a go of the big ride on the new full susser.

  2. Somewhere north of Aviemore maybe, Grantown, Ballater/Braemar perhaps. Doesn’t take that long to get up there. If we get the numbers then booking out a full hostel would be great. Last year we were away the Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun nights, I’d be up for the same in 2014.

  3. I usually go to Aviemore with the family at Easter so unlikely to be joining you unless… the plan was for Aviemore. Which would be nice.

  4. Whatever you’re planning…count me in. The Skye trip was the stand out club weekend away trip for me.

Don’t mind Aviemore area, there’s lots up there. I like the sound of Gregs ride up Glen Clova.
