INSANITY – Glen Tilt – Beinn a Ghlo – you know it makes sense.
I have, at short notice, managed to get tomorrow off – last day of summer…..!
I am based in Dublane during the week, so intend to make an early start from the car park at ‘Old Bridge of Tilt’.
I remember bagging the Munros here, and my first ever walk of any stature in Scotland, in 1988, was indeed Glen Tilt.
I will be doing the Phil McKane 54km circumnavigation of Beinn a Ghlo route (and bringing said book with me), and will aim for a 9.00am start. If anyone wants to chum me I can extend the start time to 10.ooam!
If there’s anyone who wants to make the most of the stunning weather, low river for crossing, and appreciate one of the worlds most stunning locations, the dancing sunlight on the water, and a quick pint at the end, and if you can swing a day off at ridiculously short notice, then I’m on
Cheers – Nigel
Fantastic, a bunch of us did the route last summer in similar weather (http://www.gmbc.org.uk/glen-tilt-ride-report/). We went anti-clockwise, I think that Kane’s book suggests clockwise? Anyway, there was a sketchy bit of navigation on the way out where the trail wasn’t immediately obvious, but if you trust your map and compass (and GPS if you have such), and keep heading in the right direction, it works out. Have fun!
