GMBC BBQ – Head Count

Hello all,

This is the final role call for all those who haven’t yet informed me via wordpress reply.  We’ll be buying the food and drink later in the week,  so an idea of numbers would be appreciated to ensure we’ve brought enough.

So far, I count 13 including myself from the replies.  I know that there may be more coming from discussions on Saturday, but a show of hands would be a great help.

I’m open for suggestions to ride times too.  The BBQ kicks off at 6pm, but by the time it’s heated up and we’ve faffed, we’ll probably be eating around 7pm.  I’m up for heading off from the visitor car park around 3pm if anyone wishes to join me?

Regards

  1. Barry,

I will be at the BBQ, not sure about the ride beforehand though.

  2. I’ll be up if it’s going ahead. I’ll probably head up on the cross bike, so that I can ride back with the Crookston posse and take panniers for a beer run to Tesco ;~) If it’s nice I might head up earlier for a ride, but obviously I’ll be looking for less technical.

  3. We’ll be there too, probably not for the ride beforehand though…

  4. Ok, I work in IT, but can’t navigate a simple website or blog on account of being a numpty off as well as on the saddle. With this in mind could someone take pity on my failing faculties and let me know when the bbq is taking place. Is it in the bbq section of Mugdock visitor centre beside the playpark?

In my case, having a beer and riding a bike is the *last* thing to do, so I’ll be walking…….

    • It’s the BBQ area at the rear of the gardens at the Farm Shop / Caulders Garden centre. It’s accessed from the visitor centre carpark. From entering the carpark from the main road, walk down to the left of the carpark, you’ll come to the Garden Centre and make your way around the back towards the rear of the gardens and you’ll find it. It’s a large sheltered BBQ area beside Craigend pond.

Map available here, it’s marked “Pond BBQ” – http://www.mugdock-country-park.org.uk/parkmap.pdf

  5. I will be riding from Crookston, cross bike too and a big rucksack!

  6. Not going to make it along on Saturday unfortunately. Have a good one and I hope the weather holds out!

  7. Might be along with my own grub on saturday night depending on a few possible setbacks will bring “er indoors” and little un?? .Is anyone else bringing kids or is it adults only.

  8. Think I will leave crookston at 6pm as I was a bit early last year – better to be fashionably late and arrive burger in hand 🙂 will pit stop at odbins too!

  9. would have too, but weather is a bit of a let down – may use the singlespeed to head up – full guards may be needed! will leave about 5.45ish
