How good is your running?

Hey y’all,

So I managed to persuade Graham into the Bowhill Medium and Long duathalon. These are off road races down at the borders where you race off road on two wheels AND two feet πŸ™‚ Β The race isn’t detailed in distance but in winning time as the terrain is more an important aspect than the actual distance. Gives you an idea of the race πŸ™‚

the race is run by durty events and are well organised and good fun. More details can be found on their website www.durtyevents.co.uk and click on bowhill winter series. Entry is through entry Central. G and I are only doing medium(18jan) and long (22 feb)versions. We thought we would make a weekend of it staying local in a bunkhouse and doing some riding the day before. After all the race is only as serious as you make it -and am just going for the mud πŸ™‚

we can co-ordinate accommodation on the events page Graham set up.

So. Who’s up for a challenge?

  1. Oh boy. Why do I get talked into your crazy ideas Dawn?! At least January gives me a chance to practice this running thing. Although, I’m worried it breaks Rule #42 here:
    http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/

  2. I’m planning on entering the long one in Feb. Haven’t been out for a run since August so I’ll have to get some practice in too! Would be good to get out on the bike on the Saturday as well, by the sounds of it there are some good trails down that way.

  3. I’d be up for this. Yet to check full details but pencil me in.

FYI Graham running is generally less hazardous than mtb. Less obstacles to collide with (at speed), I’m sure u will be fine.

  4. Hi dawn, count me in for the long one on the 22nd Feb, will sign up on Friday… Are we staying overnight…

  5. OK, I’ll book some bunkhouse accommodation then. Who is up for overnight the night before (whether you fancy a wee local spin on the Saturday or not)? I have:

    Medium: Dawn, me
Long: Dawn, Me, Angus, maybe Bosco & Julie, Thomas

  6. I have entered the long. Would be keen to do some local riding the day before and make it worth the trip down. Though the cafe is always good and that goes a long way towards making it well worth it!

  7. I am up for staying a overnighter.

  8. That’s me entered the long

  9. Hi. That’s the bunkhouse confirmed 7 spaces for us for Saturday 21st Feb. They’ve not requested any cash yet. If that changes I’ll let you know. Confirmed in the bunkhouse are: Dawn, Me, Angus, Bosco & Julie, Thomas and Elizabeth.
