Iain had a tumble off his bike at cathkin yesterday. He was transferred to from Hairmyers to monklands and underwent surgery today. They have reset his broken nose, stitched both lips back into place and he has several stitches over his face. All things considered he has been very lucky. Its likely he will get home tomorrow, be off work for 2 weeks and it will take 6 weeks for his face to be back to normal- its currently twice its size. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
Anyone want to organise a whip-round for a set of stabilisers…?

Just as well he landed on his face.anywhere else could have hurt…tell the truth Pete he was getting to big for his boots thinking he’s a big track star and you smacked him one.

Thanks for all the kind words. Home last night and had a good sleep. Face is even more ugly than normal but plastic surgeon did a good job with limited skin :D. Hope to be back on bike by Christmas, need new helmet and specs first !

Right, been out on the cross bike a few times and some velodrome sessions so body is getting there. Mtb soon, once replacement helmet and winter boots turn up, hoping to be out next sunday, however I may well walk some descents as any bottle I had is well gone !!!!!!
