Mugdock Riding ?

It’s really good to see the interest growing for the maintenance days, and I’ve seen some activity on the Meetup mailing list too, so here’s hoping that we can get a good turnout and actually make a difference. I guess we are all getting fed up with not being able to ride our usual trails…..

On that idea, the Ardgartan loop on cx bikes would be a cracker, unfortunately I couldn’t make today’s one, but it has got me thinking about what other relatively nearby routes could be spiced up by doing on cx bikes while the trails are so gubbed ?

I could well be up for Ardgartan Again next Sun, weather permitting…. ?

  1. Just to 2nd Iain’s comments re: trail maintenance. As per my mail, it would be great to see as many as possible involved in the work and many thanks to all those that have volunteered either time or materials/equipment to the project.

Regarding the trail conditions just now, I was out with John, Barry and Steven today for a bit of a ride/survey and ………
    1. Yes, lots of trees down, especially at the top of Rosies and along near the bottom of Narnia. We managed to clear a few of the smaller ones.
    2. Also I’d say that, until it’s dried out, we totally avoid Dawn’s Pinky Trail. It’s a deep, boggy mess.
    3. And finally, as Iain and MarkyMark have experienced, the descent down Snakey has degraded significantly at the bottom. It’s developed a deep rutted section on the left that spits you into a now raised wooden drainage bar. It caused an accident today (Barry, really sorry mate, I hope the injured hand feels better soon!)
