Anyone got ideas, advice, top things to do and see lists for New Zealand??
I’m going out for a few weeks, through December and returning mid January. Will be based in Wellington so will travel to the best bits for Walking, Riding, Diving, Exploring and generally having fun. Opportunity of a lifetime so got to make every second count.

Hi Simon, here’s a few ideas from me:
Kaikoura for whale watching (South Island)
Kayaking & walking round Abel Tasman (just across the Marlborough Sound from Wellington)
The Coromandel peninsula, stayed at the hostel in Opoutere – lovely part of the world
Opito Bay
The Bay of Islands up on North Island was lovely, bit of a drive from Wellington though
I did some biking near Rotorua (Whakarewarewa forest), Wanaka and Wellington (Makara Peak) – enjoyed it all. Sam & John were in NZ last Christmas so maybe a few ideas, Gerry & Alison too.
Many thanks guys. There seems so much to do and so little time! Going with Susan and here 9yr old son so will concentrate on North Island, possibly take the ferry over the Sound, base ourselves in Wellington but will travel a fair distance with plenty of things to do on the way and the return. Can’t wait, any other ideas welcome. . . . .
