Perthshire Ride Report

What to do with a hot, sunny day in May?  Head to Perthshire to enjoy some of the amazing scenery and, as it turned out, the completely empty trails.  So here’s what you missed out on….

A short but steep climb took me up above Blair Atholl…

Followed by a great descent towards Pitlochry…

wpid-dsc_0047.jpgA bit of a fireroad slog took me up to a viewpoint for a sandwich stop with great views north, south and west:

And then a fun, techy, descent down through a forest and then the final climb of the day which popped out on a moor with a very satisfactory view like this…

Then it was time for the final blast downhill along narrow heather singletrack, back to Blair Atholl…

After scaring deer along the way, it was time to set a personal KOM for destroying an ice cream and downing a cold [non alcoholic drink 🙁 ].  What a day – the smell of sun cream and the sound of crunching heather and dirt under the tyres almost made me think it was summertime!
