Up till 4 weeks ago I hadnt seen a tick, this is my third, so I thought I would share the little blighter. I am no expert but we are looking at it’s tail, it’s head is in my leg. This was the biggest and the most difficult one to remove cleanly. I really struggled with ordinary tweezers to twist it out so I have ordered the O’Tom tick tweezers that the Lyme Disease Association recommends http://www.lymediseaseaction.org.uk/ from the manufacturer http://.otom.com/how-to-remove-a-tick and there is a quaint little video, apparently is works on pets and partners. I will have 5 spare at $4.17 or £2.67 call it £2.50 if anyone is interested.
Alternatively don’t wear shorts or sleeveless tops

Thankfully, I’ve not had to use mine…think I’ll go and look them out just in case!
I’ve had at least three ticks this year, so I’ll take a set of tweezers.
Hi Grant,
I’ve got them, when are you out next?
Chris
With a bit of luck, I should be out tonight.
I’ve had 2 ticks in the last 4 weeks. One of them didn’t look too happy – must’ve been a nervous tick. BADOOM-TISH!!
Seriously, they seem to be bad this year, so be careful out there. I recently heard a report of a forestry worker near Inverness who has been diagnosed with Lyme’s disease as the result of a tick bite.
Given the recent chatter about ticks I’ve put up a new page to help raise awareness about them. You can find it here:
http://www.gmbc.org.uk/tick-awareness/
Or go to the “Let’s Ride” menu option and you’ll see it listed there.
