Tonight’s Ride & Snakey Update

The link to the calendar seems to have broken (possibly with the move to the new site).  Tonight’s ride was down on the calendar as Carron Valley.  Forestry Commission website says the trails have been cleared.  Just wanted to check what tonight’s riders are doing so that some poor soul doesn’t end up at CV on their tod.

Snakey Trail Update:

The Rangers have been patching up the muddy sections of path with gravel.  Also, you may remember the wooden edged “steps” on the trail.  These actually used to be drainage bars which have gradually been filled in with silt so they look like steps.  The Rangers have now dug these out so the wooden bars now sit above the level of the trail and function as drainage bars once again.  Just be aware when you are descending (responsibly I’m sure!).

  1. I am planning on being over for a local at Mugdock tonight. Should be nice and crispy !

I noticed on Snakey on Sunday that they had filled in and sorted the drainage bars as Graham says, with the exception of the bottom one with the big washout – dunno if that has now been sorted also ?

  2. I plan to be out to. Lovely cold crisp day out there so the trails should be fun.

    Imagine, a dry Wednesday night!

  3. I should be out, local.

That said a quick spin at some point at CV would be nice, not gonna have time to get there tonight though.
