I’m sure this will get a lot of moaning and groaning from certain crowds (the reaction to Sanny’s article in Singletrack springs to mind).

    I actually think this is a good idea. Was in Tomintoul a few weeks ago and did a ride into Glen Avon. There seem to be lots of potential and spotted a long distance ride to Braemar over this north east section of the Cairngorms. Tomintoul itself is a bit grim with lots of closed pubs, hotels and cafess- it looks like it needs a wee bit of a boost and this might help. Its only about 30 minutes from Aviemoire via Grantown, but boy, does it feel like the place is on the remotest place in the world!!
