Weekend Ride?

I can’t do Sunday but I was wondering if there was any interest in a ride on Saturday or even Monday? Suggestions: Glen Tilt loop; Devil’s Staircase & Ciaran Path; Tour de Ben Nevis or Southern Upland Way around Wanlockhead or ???

  1. Hi Chris – I’ve been mulling over a route up near Pitlochry. I’ve ridden some of it but the return leg would be a new route to me. If you (and anyone else who fancies it) don’t mind a bit of map faff then I’m up for a ride on Saturday. I’ll write up a route description and post an event with the details – probably a 10am start from Pitlochry with about a 35 – 40km loop. Will check the weather for Saturday too. Also, I’ll be aiming to get back up to Pitlochry later in October so if anyone wants some amazing Autumn scenery then watch out for a ride in the next few weeks.

  2. I’m up for Pitlochry October.

Unfortunately, I can’t do this Saturday as need to prepare the Tosh cx course.

  3. Hi there. Had a chance to review the route. Looks like about 40km. Out in the direction of Loch Bhac then back over moorland, steep climb in between. Hard to tell what the return trail will be like, expecting an exposed 8km section, maybe wet in places. Forecast for Saturday is drizzle/mist – probably need to make a call on the Friday night regarding cloud conditions etc.

There WILL be map faff, vague trails, wrong turns etc so if you want an easy, flowing ride best try Glentress. 🙂

  4. Is the return leg the same what we did on my best ever ride? And what you didn’t have time to do on your worst ever ride?

I might try to help finding the trails but I can easily get lost already around Loch Tummel.

Would you be able to pick me up in Perth or should I get a train to Pitlochry? Would be great to be delivered to Glasgow afterwards.

    Ieva

  5. Dave Moore and I are doing Ciaran Path on Monday. Meet at bottom of Devil’s Staircase at 9.30. Let me know if you are coming. Expect a long hard but fantastic day
