For Sale – Hope Vision 4 light

I am sellimg my Hope lightset.  It’s same as the one in this link :

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/hope-vision-4-led-front-light/

and also comes with a head harness, so can be used for walking etc.  I have only used it on the bar mount, so helmet mount and harness mount are unused.  I have ran it since late 09 and it is in pretty much perfect condition.  There is a crack in the battery case where I dropped it on my garage floor when it was a few month old, sent it back to Hope and they glued it and it’s been fine since.

I have a new Exposure light on order, so this one will be available around the end of next week. I will be posting it up on Singletrack Classifieds but would rather sell locally to avoid postage.  Looking for £150. If interested please drop me a mail :

Wed Ride – Dumayat

Well that really was a cracker….

7 of us assembled at the Wallace Monument Car Park and headed off about 740 – warm and pretty sticky as we weaved up through the University Campus and onto the singletrack.  The usual hikey bikey bits for most of us, although Sanny, Dene and Euan cleared more than the rest of us.  Just before 9 we got to the summit, a brief pit stop, knee pads adornded and let rip down the way.  Totally phenomenal descent – most of us taking different lines and no major stacks.  I had a front wheel wash out and a body surf on some grass, but thankfully it was a soft landing.  Back down and Graham led us off into some new stuff in the adjacent forest that Stirling Bike Club have been building – quite like some of the twisty rooty Mugdock trails, but with timber chutes and ramps, made all the more interesting by the settling dusk.

We eventually arrived back at the cars just before 1030, tired, dusty, hungry and well stoked – it really is a lovely hard and techy ride, and on a warm summers evening the views are spectacular.  Added bonus of the M80 being fully opened brings it within not much more than 30mins of Glasgow too.

piccy links…..errr

well that didn’t really work !!!  I used the url link button on the ‘new post’, ‘upload images’ tab, and pasted in the url from the ‘properties’ of the pics on my facebook page.  Pics seem to have come out huge though.

Any pointers on how to do it better would be helpful  (posting pics, that is, not riding my bike – I know that is a lost cause !!

Soggy Wednesday !

Well that was a bit of a shock to the system after the dryish trails of the weekend.  Only 5 of us out, including 2 new to the club riders, Dave and Eilidh.  The heavy clouds were threatening from the very start so PistolPete led us off on a wee 25 min loop of the urban trails, back round to the trails just after the bombhole, where we proceeded up through the new section beside the old quarry, out through Hole in the Wall and played around on Voodoo.  Dave did a cracking face first mud slide down the grassy bank and we all managed a few dabs and slithers along the top trail, before much hilarlity negotiating a claggy claggy claggy John’s -).  Down the muddy rhoddy descent and up Snakey, at which time the heavens really opened.  It was only about half 9 but getting dark and decidedly yeuch, so a wee play around the lowish sections of Drumclog Moor and a hasty retreat back down Snakey etc to be back at the club just before 10.  Nice being out, but a big bundle of soggy kit in the wash – just like a winter Wednesday night really -)

GMBC June Calendar

Hi Folks,
I’m sure there’s a way to post this on WordPress but I don’t have time to figure it out just now so to make sure that everyone’s got a copy I’m reverting to old fashioned email to share the GMBC June calendar with you.
July & August calendar is work in progress so if  you have routes/rides you’d like to do and an idea of a date then let me know and I’ll try to accommodate.  There were some rumblings about a Lakes trip and a Glen Tilt/Braemar weekender and if you have an “epic” ride in mind then now’s the time to get it in!
cheers,
Graham

Muddy Wednesday – where has summer gone ??

It was more like an Autumn night out there tonight – 8 degrees, muddy, windy, a few heavy showers pushing through.  The 745 ride saw 5 of us heading out for a couple of hours – great blast, no offs or mechanicals to speak of, so covered a lot of ground – trails still riding pretty well but rocky rooty and riverside well slippy !!

Hard to believe we were riding in T-shirts on dusty trails a few weeks ago – roll on summer !

Wed rides – dusty and tea and biccys

Well that was a blast.  6 of us out on the 745 and about 10 on the 7pm ‘beginners ride’ although seeing as Luke took them down flux it must have been a pretty experienced bunch.  We were back at club just before 10 as a couple of folk didn’t have lights, so in good time for a natter over tea and biscuits.  Trails were dry and dusty, probably as good as they ever get – shame it’s to rain tomorrow !

It’s great to see a good bunch out on a Wednesday, and particulalrly a few new faces , and getting back sharp allows best use to be made of the hall for a chat and cuppa.

great evening indeed -)
