Bothy Ride in April

I’ve put some details in the calender for a bothy ride in April. I know it’s a while away but I’d like to see who’d be interested. I’ve done this route before and it was a good ride, would like to do it again in the spring. It would be a mini adventure if nothing else.

  1. Yes, count me in. Let the Tom ‘n’ Gerry jokes commence…

  2. Count me in too Tom. Thanks for organising this.

  3. That’s a great wee bothy. Stayed in it several times. A true classic though there is the option of the other bothy further up the Glen which can be incorporated into the Ciaran Path ride and even Ciaran Bothy which is more house than Bothy. The ride itself is a classic and one that Donald and I did many years ago as part of a cross Scotland ride.

I’ve been looking at a rack that will fit on full sus frames. Could be an excuse for a purchase!

    • Yeah there are quite a few variations on this, I’d really like to try the Ciaran path route with the bothy another time. I think the route I’ve described with the Meanach bothy will make a great club ride as the riding is good but will be enjoyable for most people.

  4. Sounds tempting.

And I’m going to have to learn to pack light one day…

    Count me in.

    Luke

  5. Having done a fair bit of hillwalking in this area I know this is superb country, but unfortunately I’m in Mallorca when this is on. Would have loved to do this.

Nevertheless, my absence will ensure that the average speed of the ride is increased, thus allowing for more time to consume the cask strength!
