Hi,
Weather looks good in the east and given all the bad weather, a trail centre seems like a good option(shame I cannot do the weekend away).
Anyone interested in Glentress?
Cheers
Ross

Hi GMBC,
Do you fancy a social ride spanning two days?,
Do you fancy an 11am (ish) Saturday Morning start getting to your destination on pure pedal power alone?
Do you fancy staying in a bunkroom or twin bedroom for 50 % discount including a full english breakie the next day before mtb home again?(Bunkroom pp £15, Twin bedroom pp £18.75)
Most importantly do you fancy a slap up meal and some ales n beers in an award winning Gastro Pub of the Year?
If you answered Yes then heres the details,
28th Jan – Sat am. leave Stewart Street Car Park with a little adventure bag packed with your overnight kit (Party pants, Hairdryers, Straightners optional) leave along the west highland way – playing whatever trails take our fancy en route to Balmaha – mandatory tea stop in Drymen – or pub for those requiring dutch courage for the descent off Conic Hill. Arrive Balmaha just as the sunsets and into the pub for another mandatory durty beer before a wash and some dinner. Relax, socialise and sleep ready to do it all in reverse the following day.
There are 4 spaces in the bunkroom and there are 5 twin rooms available. Roll Call so far; Graham A, Barry, Tony, Gerry, Alison, Phil, John, Sam, Davie, Lorna, myself and Ryszard. I will need to get back to Oak Tree Inn tom (25 Nov) at 5pm to give them an idea of how many are coming – short notice I know sorry! So those who are interested can you get back to me asap. 🙂
If you need anymore convincing check out the website http://www.oak-tree-inn.co.uk/

Hi folks
Just a quick reminder that the European premiere of the new mtb film from the guys at The Collective is next Tuesday night (29th) at 8.30pm.
Tickets are on sale now from the Box Office on 0141 332 6535 or from www.glasgowfilm.org/theatre
You can view the trailer at
http://www.thecoastalcrew.com/
The film nights are always a really good laugh and extremely well attended so if you are planning on coming, it’s best to order tickets in advance in order to avoid the inevitable long queue to get in.
Cheers

Just a reminder that Glasgow United CC are hosting the Scottish Cyclo-Cross champs on Sunday 4th December starting 10am sharp at:-
Auchentoshan Centre
Kilpatrick School, Mountblow Road, Clydebank, G81 4SW
Get yourself along and give all the riders a cheer. It’s a great spectator sport.
If you would also like to help out on this magnificent occasion, just let me know 🙂
Just 15 years ago GUCC hosted the first…….
Hi, Anyone have a 9 speed shifter they can part with?
Cheers

Does anybody have an old M525 rear hub kicking about surplus to requirements? It doesn’t even need to be functioning, I only need the axle (threads must be OK). Name your price if so.
Having just looked at the forecast the prediction is that it is an improving picture late afternoon and a reasonable chance of dry (from above at least….) this evening for a few hrs.
Many of the favourite routes will be a mudfest and we should try and let them recover, but options could include Douglaston, Voodoo, Lennox ???? (Dumgoyne also a possibility although we are probabaly all sick riding that in the last few weeks).
Any takers ?
Hi all,
Finally I am now in possession of our club clothing order.
The easiest way to collect & pay for your top(s) would be to attend next Tuesday nights ride which I should be attending or at the AGM next Wednesday, which you should all be attending (signed permission slips are needed otherwise).
I’ve ordered a number of tops for stock which are available for any sizing issues and they’re also available to purchase at cost, these will be displayed at the AGM. (Cost is what we are all paying – £30 for s/sleeve, £32 for l/sleeve).
I am also attending the Mabie w/end trip (this w/end), so if you’re also coming along, let me know & I’ll bring yer top.
The 25th Anniversary Top is still in its early stages, further details of this will become available in the new year.
Regards
Barry
Sunday, 20th Nov-11: Found a set of keys on lying in the middle of the West Highland Way, northbound just past the bottom of Rosie’s. Hung them on the gatepost next to bottom of Rosie’s.
5 of us headed round for a somewhat soggy but very enjoyable loop. We had a bit of a ‘detour’ when we turned right in Killearn (my fault…) but it was a challenging 20 mins of mudfest in the forest before we popped back onto the landy track. The main ascent towards the saddle of Dumgoyne was brutal, with soggy sucky ground taking full advantage of the granny rings – apart from singlespeed Jack …hahahahaha – although his efforts put most of us to shame. Gavin must have been eating Viagra or something as he was unstoppable all day…. he dropped us all on the climb and had to come back to where we had decided to break for some well earned sandwiches :). I managed simultaneous punctures front and back, presumably on a bit of barbed wire, just before joining the water board track, but at least it gave a wee break. Tired legs took us back up into Mugdock and back to the crowds of grumpy dog walkers ! A great day and again, nice to be doing something a bit different to the norm – good on Grant for the suggestion.
