Have you been on any club rides this year and taken a decent photo or two? Would you like the opportunity to see your photo included in a glossy GMBC calendar for 2017? Well, why not enter our competition to select photos for our 2017 calendar?
You may or may not be aware that 2017 is GMBC’s 30th anniversary so what better way to celebrate some of the great rides we do by having them printed in A4 size so you can stare longingly at them rather than do useful, productive work. Submissions:
- Send photos to the club Flickr account via email to forms02laps[AT]photos.flickr.com
- Use subject line of email for photo title – use this format please; GMBC2017_yourPhotoTitle_yourName
- Use body of email for description, include location & name of rider
- Photos should be in JPG format, please avoid very large file sizes, 3-5MB is plenty.
- The design of the calendar means that photos in a landscape orientation will work best. Portrait orientation can be accepted but these may be included in a collage type image or cropped to fit.
- Closing date for submissions is Mon. 21-Nov (i.e. after the Galloway trip)
Voting:
- Photos will be available to preview online (via a Flickr photo album) before the AGM & hopefully on display again during the AGM
- Voters at the AGM will choose their 3 favourite images plus 1 image they’d like to see on the cover with the most popular photos being used in the calendar (i.e. at least 1 per month plus 1 cover image).
- We’ll aim to have the calendar design finalised by 11-Dec. Ordering and payment details will be provided closer to that date. Probably ordering via WebCollect with delivery for early January, depending on production leadtimes at Bob Books.
Rules:
Maximum of 3 photos per club member.UPDATED: as we’ve not had many submissions yet, let’s remove this limit to make it a competition but keep it sensible, don’t upload ALL your GMBC photos!!- Photos can be from any year of the club’s existence (i.e. since 1987)
- The photos must have been taken on a ride/trip organised via GMBC and feature at least 1 GMBC rider
- If we receive more than 30 entries the Committee will select what they think are the best 30 photos for selection at the AGM
- In the event of a tied number of votes we’ll try to use both photos in the calendar
- Only current club members attending the 2016 AGM will be able to vote for their favourite photos
- The photo used on the cover won’t be used as a monthly image in the calendar
- The final design of the calendar and how photos are used is up to the Committee
- Just in case it needs saying, no rude photos please. It’s not a charity nudey calendar with strategically placed track pumps and carrot cakes thanks!!
- The photo must be owned by you or you must have permission to use the photo, no photos with watermarks for professional photographers.
