….just a few of the 8.4 billion photos I took over the weekend 🙂
Got to say, the techy boulder fest down the side of Yew Crag above Rosthwaite was the absolute dogs! Thanks to everyone – you all made it a fantastic weekend of riding in great weather and truly stunning surroundings!
One weekend I wish I could have got too. Love the photos. Cheers
So how was the carry up and ride down off of Cat Bells then? The descent you took is not one I’ve done but looked pretty short compared to riding off the ridge. How was the rest of the ride. Did you take the footpath to Watendlath as that is a challenging section of trail and far more fun than sticking to the road. Was the cafe still open or has it closed yet for the winter?
Cheers

The descent was pretty good down the bridleway off Cat Bells. The very top bit had a couple of dodgy corners, but other than that good steep riding with fun rock features. There were a lot of walkers on parts of it so difficult to get a rhythm going.
The cafe was open, we took the road up. We were a bit of a big group for cheeky footpath bashing.
That’s a shame as that path is brilliant and has been a staple of previous club jaunts down there. Probably just as well you guys opted not to do Skiddaw as the descent off Doups was even steeper than I remembered it. There would have been a LOT of hillwalking down! Did Chris get lost again or did he avoid the hat trick? Ha! Ha! (Sorry Chris, open goal too good to miss!)
