So did the weekend away happen? I hope it did. Marky Mark and I were down riding High Street yesterday and it was stunning. Great weather and dusty trails. Gutted that I wasn’t able to get down for the whole weekend. Brilliant day out.

Not sure it counts as a GMBC weekend when only 2 members where riding, which is a shame as the weather was indeed great! We met up with some ex-GMBC bikers who now live in Edinburgh. So, 6 riders in total.
I’ll do a ride report with photies later, but in summary:
Friday: Walma Scar, Near Conniston, 24km
Big climbs, big hills, some hikey-bikey, fantastic singletrack, sunny evening- brilliant!
Saturday: Big Day Out, 50km
Big route, mega sunny hot day, mixture of some garnly singletrack, un-walked briddleways, Loughrigg Terrace, fast descents down to Grasmere, cracking descent into Hawkshead, ice cream, climbs up to Iron Keld, then fast descent through a cow field before a nice refreshing
isotonic shandy in Elterwater.
Sunday: Grizedale, North Face Trail, 16km
Easy day to investigate one of the lakes trails centres- great cake in the cafe, pretty decent bike shop too. Trail was not my cuppa tea- too many fire road climbs, but it had a great single track section to finish, nice a flowy with some tight turns and water splashes.
Next time we are going to the North lakes.
