Hi Folks,
After a successful and informative navigation skills course back in July we’re aiming to run more classes. Depending on the level of interest there will be 2 theory classes and 1 practical session (on foot, probably in the Trossachs) on offer. To ensure we have the best chance of running the classes I will open this up to non-GMBC members subscribed to the Yahoo mailing list on the condition that paid GMBC members have priority and non-paid up members pay the full price (£20 per course). Dates and details………..
Theory Classes: Wed 23rd Nov and/or Wed 7th Dec – 7:30pm to 9/9:30pm, St. Andrew’s church hall. Covers: understanding map features, compass work, navigation techniques – delivered in a practical, hands-on way and provides a useful handout to take away. £10 for club members. Max of 12 places available on each class.
Practical Session: Sat 10th December – probably 5-6hrs, Aberfoyle or Callander, start time 10am (TBC). Practical application of theory. Pre-requisite: to have attended the theory class. £10 for club members. Max of 15 places available.
What Next?
Either email me or post up to let me know if you’re interested in the theory class – and if so, whether you’d prefer 23/11, 7/12 or you are fine for either class.
Also let me know if you are interested in the practical session on 10/12.
I’ll collate the numbers over the next week or 2 and if we have enough to run each class (min. 8 people) I’ll post up to confirm which classes are going ahead.

Hi Barry. That’s both you and Claire’s names down. Just a reminder that if Claire’s not a paid up GMBC member it’ll depend on how many spaces are left after GMBC members have had their chance to sign up. I’ve got a note of her interest, probably fairest to do it on a first come first served basis for non-members so she’s first on the list!
