Pitlochry Saturday 29th Oct

Pitlochry

Pitlochry2

Here are a couple of ride suggestions that I have done before. We can decide on the day…. both approx 3-4 hours; nothing technical; great scenery and riverside return trails, trees should be fantastic colour too.

Fancy dress optional!

Last chance to ride before British Summertime ends.

Meet at Escape Route Bikes ready to ride @ 10am

Chris, sorry cant offer lift.

PS this is a saturday ride

  1. Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, we have other plans for next weekend. We are actually heading over to Pitlochry tomorrow for a ride – great minds think alike!

Hope you got your bike issues sorted.
    Elaine

  2. Hi Chris,
I was up in Pitlochry last week and was chatting to the guys at Escape Route. They said if there was a group of GMBC riders coming up and you fancied a bacon roll before the ride then to give them a call (01796 473859) with the numbers and they could sort it out for a reasonable fee, think it was a chap called Chris that I spoke to.
I rode the Farragon Loop (37k from Pitlochry to Strathtay and back over to Loch Tummel) with Euan McD – it was pretty good, a mix of fireroad and some single track with big views over the Tay in one direction and over to Ben Vrackie in the other. Nothing too technical apart from a few rocky ruts here and there. Will tell you more about if you’re out on Tuesday.

    • Hi Graham, not sure I will make it out this week, got a cold! Haven’t done this but I see the Stirling boys have done it. I take it you went clockwise and how long, 4-5hrs? Chris PS no ‘takers’ so far

  3. hi chris – it took 5 hours including a sandwich stop, some map checking and blethering. hope your cold clears up sharpish!

  4. Final reminder for Pitlochry this saturday. I quite fancy Graham’s Farragon loop as I havent done it, but I am open to suggestions. It may be a little damp but the nice boys at Escape Route have offered to arrange bacon rolls and there is that nice Moulin pub to finish off.
    Chris
