Hi. We’ve used club funds to pay the deposit for exclusive use of the Ardenbeg Bunkhouse in Grantown-on-Spey (approx 15miles north east of Aviemore). The trip will be for 4 nights, arriving Thu 2nd April, departing Mon 6th April. Bunkhouse accommodation will cost £74per person for the weekend (assuming we get 19+ people signing up).
Grantown is a great base for mountain biking with it being a short distance from both the Glenlivet trail centre and all the classic trails near Aviemore & Rothiemurchus, not to mention a skills loop in Grantown itself. With all the riding nearby there should be options to suit everyone. As is usual with club weekend trips we’ll be sharing the catering duties and there will be plenty of great banter (although, no hot tub this time!).

Alison and I will try and hook up for a bit. I will be starting a new job on the Monday (SSE) so it would be best if we just organise our own accommodation elsewhere locally. Hope the local pub still sells the mega pies.

I will be there, but not for 4 days. Probably will pop in for day or two with my car and tent and then move elsewhere. I’ll be leaving Scotland in 2015 so I need to grasp as much of it as possible.

Yip, looks like we’ve got all the disco divas going (I’m including you & Tom in that list) so the Easter disco is shaping up to be another epic night out. Subsequently I’m planning an easy ride for the Sunday 😉
Don’t be too disappointed it there is not a disco… Grantown is not in my “Cheesy Discos in Rural place around Scotland” book…
It’s a short drive to the bright lights and big city that is Aviemore – I have faith that there will be cheesy dance moves and over-friendly locals 🙂
