I WENT OUT ON SAT 4TH FOR A RUN FROM KILSYTH,AROUND BANTON LOCH,OVER CROY HILL THEN OVER THE ROMAN RUINS AT BARHILL FORT AT TWECHER AND BACK TO KILSYTH.THE ROUTE RAN REALLY WELL WITH JUST THE ONE VERY BOGGY PART(OVERSHOES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE LOCH WHICH WAS STILL RIDEABLE WITH THE BACK TYRE SPINNING.
IT WOULD PROBABLY BE IN THE REGION OF A 2 + 1/2 HR RIDE WITH A FEW SHORT STEEP CLIMBS/DESCENTS, BUT NOTHING TOO SERIOUS AND THE VIEWS ARE WORTH IT. IT WOULD BE AN IDEAL WARM UP FOR THOSE GOING TO BALMAHA.
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED THEN I WAS THINKING OF 10AM DEPART FROM THE BIG CAR PARK AT THE REAR OF THE COACHMAN HOTEL IN KILSYTH.

Hi Davie – I’ve agreed to do some chores on Sunday to help with the upcoming relocation to a new club hall so I’m going to do the local ride. Hopefully you can re-run this Kilsyth ride at some point and I’ll make it along.

Like Graham I’m going to help out with sorting out the stuff in the club hall ahead of the move to the new venue so won’t make the Kilsyth ride. Sorry about the late change in plans but look forward to the ride another time.
