Super Selkirk Singletrack Saturday

In the club calendar for this coming Saturday:

Selkirk Singletrack Saturday

It’s a chance to explore some of the less-ridden (but still excellent) trails in the Tweed Valley.  I’m hoping the dry-ish weather in the east this week means the trails are in decent condition come Saturday.  Expect lots of climbs (3000ft+), a similar amount of descending, exposed moorlands, forest singletrack and a wee bit of fireroad and tarmac to join up the fun bits.  Take food for the day as a cafe stop isn’t guaranteed on this ride.  The meeting point is the main car park in Selkirk town centre, just off the town square.

Last time it looked a bit like this:

And according to the-now-Sheffield-based-ex-GMBC-rider, Grant H, it was one of his highlights riding here in Scotland when he said,

The Selkirk Singletrack ride this Summer, you all owe it to yourself to try this at least once.

You do owe it to yourself.  Get beyond the trail centres, we can ride them during winter!!

  1. Should have asked, what sort of mileage are we talking about?

  2. I’m keeping a close eye on the weather for Saturday. It’s still a few days out but a front is expected on Saturday, if it looks bad then I’ll postpone the ride.

  3. I’ve changed the ride to be the Sunday instead as the weather looks a bit better.
