Wednesday intro ride

A surprising 7 riders decided to ignore the forecast heavy rain and brave the results of the afternoon’s downpour.  Despite the threats, the rain held off, although the trails were sodden.  A fair hunk of forest track/fire road out along the Westie, with some of the less tricky bits of singletrack along the way thrown in: up to the huts, the last remaining top loop of the evermore misnamed new trails, grassy descent to Carbeth, back to the huts and down to Rosie’s, up to the pet cemetary and out onto the top moor, back home via the loch and the usual suspects.  Only two proper beginners out, but they tackled everything with gusto and seemed keen to come back (respect to Majken with a rigid fork and slicks, and Iain seemed keen to throw himself down anything), so mission accomplished.  A thoroughly enjoyable jaunt, and another opportunity for Jack to convince the rest of us that going tubeless is more hassle than it’s worth ;~p

Was anybody on the 7:45pm ride?  The car park looked rather empty, and there was nobody else about when I finally left at 10pm.

  1. I can vouch for the the fun of the introductory ride last night. A good mix of abilities, nice trails, good company and even a wee blink of sunshine. Well it was a wee blink, as no sooner had I said, “fantastic the sun has come out”, than there was a shower of rain. The main thing was everyone seemed to enjoy it.

  2. I didn’t go cos I was working late and the weather looked nasty… Guess I was wrong!

  3. sorry, not sure how to email you directly groundskeeperjohn but i’m keen to help out with any trail work/maintenance you might be doing.
    cheers
