Wednesday Night 5th September

Hey.

I am a relatively new member

I turned up tonight at 7.20pm just to see a small group of members cycling onto the pedestrian precint. I thought I had tunred up early for the 7.45 pm ride which I thought was the only one listed for the winter season. I decided to quickly change and catch up with the group but obviously chose the wrong route as I never seen them again. Anyway I went out for a ride on my own. Wasnt bothered but just need to know for future knowledge was that a 7pm ride setting off late or the 7.45 deciding to head off early to make the most of the light.

Cheers

  1. Hi Allan,

Normally it’s 7:45. I think there were some folk going out at 7 as well to make the most of the light / nice day but normally it’s 7:45 and I’m sure there would have been a group out at that time.

  2. As Graham pointed out recently, the regular Wednesday 7pm introductory ride has finished for this year as lights are now required to ride until 9pm. The plan is to put on ad hoc intro rides on demand, which is what happened last night, and, although it was arranged last minute, I should have put it on the calendar. There was also a 7:45 ride (which I wouldn’t expect to leave early without prior arrangement) of about 5 folks. Sorry to hear that you fell between the two.

  3. reflecting above comments, the 745 ride never leaves before 745 and more often is unfortunately closer to 8 by the time we wait for stragglers/faffers. We do make a point of getting off the right side of 8, but often only just. The rule is be ready to ride for 745 and sometimes if there is a decent number eady we will actually get off on time and anyone late can catch up/do their own thing !

There were 5 of us out last night – a lovely evening and a bit less mud than of late 🙂

  4. Well, actually…., there were 6 of us out last night for the ‘traditional’ 8.00, sorry I mean 7.45pm ride. And jolly good it was too. It will soon be dark at 7.00pm so maybe some of our elusive early evening riders will join us in the dark…? (Unless they’re scared of it…?)

  5. Thanks for the feedback
