Well Done GMBC!

Hi all,

Well, that’s it done for another year! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who mucked in and helped in any way with the cyclocross race, whether in planning, preparation or on the day. The feedback has all been really positive with comments on happy & helpful all the marshals and volunteers were. So thank you and well done everyone.

Also, well done to all the GMBCers who braved the mud and got their jerseys dirty, it was great to see you all racing.

Thank you to our sponsors Alpine Bikes who provided fantastic prizes and nice, shiny bags to put the goodies in.

The official results are now on the SCX blog.
Marky Mark’s Flickr will be updated shortly with photos of all the action.

  1. Oh! And not forgetting Mugdock Country Park who very kindly let us take over the place for the day. Thank you very much.

  2. The Clarion pass on their thanks:
“I’m emailing to say how much the Clarion enjoyed your event. Thank you very much for putting on such a superb day of races.
It’s an awful lot of work but your team of volunteers were cheery and always helpful.
Please pass on our regards to the rest of your club
Best wishes and thanks again from West Lothian Clarion”

  3. It was a fine effort. Lyndsey, you marshalled us well. I enjoyed catching up with several people I hadn’t seen for a while (Gerry, I’ll drop you a separate e re yoga). Well done to all the GMBC riders – special mention to Luke for his display of hairy-chested single speed grit and to Stephen, certainly a man to the cross-bike born. Most curious experience yesterday has to be Jon Meredith’s trash metal accompaniment.to his race (a those around him). Cheers, Simon

  4. Great race, usual cross ride mud bath was somehow more fun… even though I didn’t do much on the Sunday except give out kiddie prizes and subject myself to an hour of bike abuse, I did notice the course was well marked out and marshalled, and organisation was first class – the sign on was much better than usual for a busy CX race, the best race yet I reckon. It was good to have a fair few club members out marshalling and giving encouragement, it makes a difference – despite bailing out about 5 times on the last lap it was brilliant fun, and Mugdock’s mud came of the bike much better than Plean’s… did GMBC soak the course with teflon?

Great day’s racing by all accounts.

  5. Great race, thanks to all that took part and helped out. Everyone that I spoke to had a great time and congratulated the host club. 🙂
