25th Anniversary Weekender- Whose Coming?

Hi All,

Based on the levels of interest expressed for the 25th Anniversary Weekender in August (17th-19th), the committee has booked the hostel. Now we need to fill!!  As you know, we need to atleast 20 people to commit to staying both nights, at a cost of approx. £20ppn. This will be dependant on the numbers and who commits.

Graham has created a fancy Google form for you to fill in. This will help us to not only work out number of beds required, but also asks for your ideas of activities you’d like to offered over the weekend.

If you wish to bring family, partners or children you will need to fill one out for each person in your group, but we can work out that you are together! The hostel does have some family rooms, which will be allocated on first come first term basic to those requiring them.

Due to the rapidly approaching date, we need everyone who wishes to come to fill the form in by Friday 13th July, to give us time to work out the payment details etc.

Let’s all make this a great 25th Anniversary- we should all have our tops by then! ;-))

  1. I had planned on coming with wife and 2 kids (7 and 2 yrs) and would book a family room – however 20pp seems really dear for a bunkhouse – that would be £80 a night for us!… I may come up and stay in a local campsite and come along to event from there unless there is a discount on family rooms? Do you pay full whack for little kids?

    Hi Stephen,

The price quoted is based on the maximum assuming we only get 20 people coming. The hostel sleeps 32 in total, therefore if we fill it, then it will work out significantly cheaper. But we need to get the names down to be able to confirm exact costs.
The family rooms have 4 beds and usually cost £22.50 per bed, regardless of who sleeps there. We’ve subsided the cost already.
Anthor option for you would be to bring an alternative bed for the little one, and find another adult to share your room.
So far, we have one of the family rooms taken, so this leaves one 4 and a 6.
    Hope that helps.
    Sam

  3. No worries, I get it re. subsidy – in past have stayed in bunkhouses a fair bit and often a family room normally works out a bit cheaper than the per-bed price – especially with young kids – the best yet was a couple of years ago the amazing bunkhouse at Strontian cost us around £36 for a 4 bed room for the 3 of us – just charged for adults. Cost is fine if it were just me and wife, but had thought I may bring family and make weekend of it… but will be much better off camping so think I will go down this route, hope to make it to activites on Saturday though.

    Hi,

Only a week to go get your name down!!

Even if you are only intending to come for the day-time and social stuff, please fill in the form, so we have a idea of numbers for food etc all in one go.
As we had about 18 comments from the last post, I am sure there are more of you still to add your names.

    Thanks
    Sam

    Folks,

Only a few days to go to get your name down! Numbers so far, are 18 for staying over and atleast another 6 for day-trippers.
Remember, the more we have, the cheaper the hostel cost…
Any questions, just post on here.
    Cheers,
    Sam

    Booking Extension – Sunday Evening

You now have until Sunday evening to get your name on the list for the weekend’s festivities. So far, there is a total of 30 people signed up to attend over the whole weekend but beds are booking up fast!!

There are only 9 beds left (out of 32) for the Saturday night, but plenty for the Friday night! (17).

This will be one to remember…
