Cyclists vs Harriers Event

We had this sent to us.  A bit different to the usual event so thought I’d post it up in case anyone was interested.  It’s a short distance, but it’s cheap and could be combined with some riding elsewhere in the area to make a day of it.  You could even enter it as a runner!?

a big sky ride on the cx bikes ? Ardgarten, Sun 1st Dec ?

any interest in getting those cx bikes off the muddy fields and onto a big spectacular loop ?  The Ardgarten Peninsula is a favourite of mine on a nice day, and a bit more of a challenge on the cross bike than a MTB.  Will b every weather dependant, but if there is some interest I’ll pop it on the Calendar.

If you don’t have a cross bike feel free to come along and be smug on the big descent into Lochgoilhead 🙂

Likely timings would be meet Ardgarten Car park 0930, and the loop takes around 3.5 hrs

SMBO Abernethy Sat 16th Novemeber

Ieva already posted this up, but I thought I’d see if anyone else was interested.

I’ll be driving up if any one wants to head up with me, circa 10am start (in Abernethy), 3 hours orienteering and maybe a spin for a hour or two afterwards.

I’ve entered as a solo, but if anyone wants to pair up is daft enough to spend an extra three hours getting lost and listening to my slevers and pish  I’m sure that could be arranged with the organisers.

Weather looking decent!

25th Jan 14 – Oak Tree Inn – Year 5!

So what’s everyone doing in January 2014. Feeling fat, bit like sloth? Can’t be bothered , need an incentive to get yer butt moving?

Well fear not! I have the perfect solution!  It’s our 5th Anniversary of the Oak Tree Inn ride! (http://www.oak-tree-inn.co.uk/)

Yup we have been granted permission to descend again (quite literally off the top of Conic..) to the doorstep of Oak Tree, Balmaha, welcomed in by a warm fire, cold beer a feast of food and good banter. When that all gets too much you can rest your weary head on the pillows of Oak Tree and awake refreshed for breakfast and a cycle home.

What could possibly be better? Now the details – if you’ve read this far your definitely interested. 🙂

Pitlochry Ride: Sat. 26th Oct

I’m planning to head back up to Pitlochry to ride some of the trails Chris, Ieva and I had a look at a few weeks ago.  The autumn colours should be in full flow.  The ride is a good mix of forest and open moorland with plenty of singletrack and epic scenery.  The mid-ride pub stop is pretty good too!  I’m meeting Chris J up there, so who’s up for joining us?

Details of the ride and where/when to meet:
