Are you upset that the long summer days have gone? Are you sad that you’re noticing the warm horizontal rain has been replaced cold horizontal rain? Well, that must mean we’re now into Scotland’s 2nd season – Winter. (The other one being “June”). But cheer up! Winter means frozen trails, cold crisp nights and no excuses needed for all you can eat mince pies and mulled wine!
To keep your spirits lifted even higher why not look forward to the GMBC Christmas Night Out? Here’s the details:
- When: Saturday, 10th December. Time TBC, probably 7pm-ish
- Where: West Restaurant & Bar, just off Glasgow Green
- How Much: £24.95 per person for 3 course meal (drinks not included but there’s plenty of great beers to wash it down with at West). West Christmas Dinner Menu.
What Next?
If you’re interested then get your name to me ASAP – by the end of this week so I can get a table reserved. I will require a £10 deposit from you, to be paid immediately and the balance will be required in early December at the latest. Methods of payment: cash or speak to me and we can arrange a bank transfer.
Small print: in confirming your attendance, you agree to pay the requested deposit immediately. In the event of you not being able to attend then you accept you will forfeit your deposit unless another club member can be found to take your place.
Damn. that’s the Mull Cyclocross weekender! have a good one though, the home brewed ‘west’ beers are tasty 🙂

Hi Folks – latest count is 22 people. A free glass of Gluwein goes to the person with the best suggestion for the collective noun for a group of mountain bikers!!! A faff of mountain bikers perhaps??
Anyway, I’ve now booked the table (for meal @ 7:30pm, maybe meet up at 7pm for some drinks?) but it’s not too late to sign up. If you’re interested then let me know and I’ll get your name on the list and ask if Wests can increase the size of the booking but it’s dependent on them having the space available so is on a best-can-do basis.
Are we still aiming for 7 to get some pre-meal drinks? Does this allow for the GMBC pre-beer faff? 😉

Yes, head to the pub for 7pm for a cheeky wee Gluhwein or Munich Red. It’ll allow time to meet up and chat before we sit down for the meal (7:30pm).
The restaurant were sent the list of menu choices on Wednesday so I expect that it will all be planned to kick off from 7:30pm onwards. We’ve got 23 going in total.
Anyone not coming for the meal but still fancying a night out could head along for 9:30pm as we should have finished the meal by about then.
