Dusty Trails !!!

Another corker last night, with not a speck of mud, just dust everywhere.  Again a poorly attended ride, with only 6 of us out, I guess everyone else was getting their Tiaras ready for tomorrow -)

As the singletrack was so lovely we decided against Loch Ardinning and stuck to the techy stuff, which was riding as well as it ever does in the height of summer, but without the midges.  Best ride of the year so far !!

A wee reminder for those venturing to the dusty Island of Arran tomorrow – Ardrossan for back of 9 to get tickets and board ferry for 0940 departure – bring lots of water and food as we are off the beaten track most of the day, and sun cream -)

Tuesday Ride 26th April

Hi All
Last Tuesday there was some talk about this Tuesday’s (26th April) ride being a pub ride if the weather was OK.  I know it is a bit short notice but I am only now remembering.  Sorry.
The weather does look good so we can discuss the route,as usual, before starting tomorrow.  If it is going to be the pub ride it will be the Carbeth then the Blane valley Inn.  Just in case this is the consensus, bring some refreshment vouchers.  If not the pub run then there are plenty other options so see you tomorrow.

snake in the grass

hello folks

not a bike story but still relevent.I went a walk with my missus and our youngest along the mentieths route on friday (brilliant riding weather /conditions).Anyway on the return i spotted an adder on the path and managed a few shots with the camera before it moved off and devoured a full grown stag antlers and all. This was good going for me as i am S%^t scared of snakes (Dawn….cows read me and snakes).once in the dead dry braken it was almost invisible so tread /fall off your bike carefully.

ps// I have uploaded too many pics the same how the hell do I get rid of the unwanted ones.

Easter Sunday ride

Hi all,

Planning on doing a ride out to the Knockie Buckle, out off road, maybe via Lennox forrest, do the loop and back via Mugdock park tomorrow.  Probably a bit longer than the average morning spin, but will be back by early/mid afternoon depending on who comes along and the length of any cafe stops.  The weather forecast is good but if it turns out to be wetter than forecast I’m sure my route plans will change accordingly!

For those that don’t know the Knockie Buckle is very steep on the way up, with the odd techie bit on the way back down (again pretty steep whichever way down you choose)

I’ll swing by the car park at 10am, so be there if you fancy it.
