Is anyone heading out for tonights scheduled Road Ride?? Starting at 6.30pm from the club carpark.
Steven & myself feel like a road blast, but the interest has been nil and void.

Howdy all,
just a wee reminder about the Saturday social ride that is scheduled for the first Saturday in June. (That will be the 4th) So far there has been quite a bit of interest in this ride so it is looking good.
Currently there are no limitations on numbers, where you join the ride, where you leave the ride, how many coffee’s and scones you have, how many lunches you have or how much you may have to drink.
A reminder of the route. Mostly off-road, leaving Milngavie at 10 heading to the Carbeth via various trails. From Carbeth to the Blane Valley Inn. Then to Kincaid House Hotel Milton of Campsie from there to the Stables in Kirkie and finally finish off in the Torrance or Wheatsheaf Inn before returning, on a leasurly ride, on the back roads to Milngavie.

A few of us are heading down on a one day trip to the Lake District for a BIG day out at Skiddaw. If you’ve got the motivation/ transportation to get yourself there for 10am and fancy joining us for the long run…phone Ross.
Plan to be at A591 at Mirehouse for 10am then we can head to car park. Phone if you decide to go!
Weather looks great!
Here’s a note of the rides this week ………

Hi. I have an unused pair of “Crank Brothers Smarty custom for Specialized” pedals which came with my 2008 Spesh Stumpjumper. As I have SPD’s they’ve never been used.
I snapped one of my SPD pedals, so am now in the market for replacement pair.
Please get in touch with me if you can either swap or would make a cash offer towards new set.
Cheers, Keith 07855 808 964

I’m impressed by the new GMBC site. Can anyone help me with a WordPress updrade to one of my websites please (www.consult.co.uk)? I’ll pay for your time and I’m thinking that half a day in our office (just north of Charing Cross) should do it – I’ve mapped out what I’m looking for, got the access codes to the site hosting and am WordPress registered. Please e me simon@consult.co.uk Thanks, Simon Haslam
This is a gentle reminder for the bothy trip next weekend, in case you missed it……….
It is out the Phil McKane book (see Bothy file link above) which is basically 2 loops; Ben Alder 30km and Ardverikie 35km from the bothy. There is a 10km ride in and out of Dalwhinnie about1.5hrs should do it with big pack and no punctures. The options are: to go in on Friday early evening remembering that the sunset will be around 8pm; or in on Saturday, dropping your gear and doing a loop or opening a bottle.
Here is a link to the Culra Bothy: http://www.claviantica.com/culra/index.html for more information it accommodates up to 22 in 3 rooms
In terms of gear:
So packs will be bigger than usual. We can sort out the shared gear when numbers are known. So far we have: Rob Rankin, Al(no helmet) myself and a few nibblers
I would suggest that we have a plan B in case the weather is piss poor.
Please let me know if you are interested or got any suggestions…………..
Cheers Chris
Welll for the first evening ride of the summer that was cracker. Biggish crowd out, with a good flowing pace and no real delays or mechanicals. The bombhole was dry and dusty, and the singletrack out towards the Hole in the Wall from the start of Rocky Rooty was as good as it gets in the height of summer. Claggy John’s wasn’t even claggy ! All the usuals, Voodoo, v-notch climb were all riding a treat and once we got up the park and into Narnia, again it was dry and dusty. Me and Tim were remarking that exactly 3 weeks ago we rode, well actually pushed, up that trail, pushing ‘cos of the snow.
…and that very satisfying feeling driving home and the rain starts -)
