Ride Tonight? + Tuesday Ride/Biscuit/Frogging Report

Hi Folks,

Just a wee update about tonight’s ride and a quick report from Tuesday that tonight’s riders might benefit from….The old calendar had a MTB time trial down for tonight.  The idea had been to do a wee competition using the fireroads, for a bit of a laugh – a bit like the road TT that was organised a couple of years ago.  Anyway, I don’t know what interest there would be in this and as I’m not going to make it out tonight (interview prep to do) then I’m sure you’ll just make up your own ride.

Last night we had 11 folks out and managed a good ride by mixing up trails and fireroads in different directions despite the greasy conditions.  I noticed it last week too but it looks like the Frog Season (the one before Midge & Tick Season) has begun in earnest so the usual trails near ponds/water are a frog minefield (what tyres for frogs?  Schwalbe Spiker Pro’s perhaps :0 ).  I also noticed at the top of Rosies there’s signs up warning of forestry work about to start – it could be to clear the fallen trees blocking the public right of way (before the fireroad is rebuilt to take the logging vehicles).

Wednesday riders will be happy to know that the biscuit bin was topped up last night and there’s a few choccie ones left too!  Also, we got too much milk so there should be a half litre/pint of milk in the fridge labelled up as GMBC – unless Weightwatchers have guzzled it (*).  Note-to-self: buy full fat milk to Weightwatcher-proof it (*).

Hope you have a good ride tonight and watch out for all the Frogging action.

(*) – allegedly, I have no proof this actually happens.

  1. Yup.

Planning on being out. It’s actually sunny right now. Woo and indeed hoo!

I’m thinking perhaps urban trails, Dougalston, Auchengillan etc. Or perhaps even the Whangie! Lots to chose from depending on who is out.

Well done on the biscuit front!

Anyone else up for coming out?

    Cheers

    Sanny
