Wednesday evening ride – scramble around Mugdock

A tour of some of the best trails in the Mugdock Park area and also heading further west towards Strathblane and maybe a bit of the WHW (exact route will be improvised). Terrain will be varied with mixture of single track, smooth trails, rocks, roots, logs, and a fair bit of mud and water. Minimal tarmac. No long climbs or descents, just lots of interesting sections strung together, with as many stops as required in between for catching up and respiratory recovery. Should be back in daylight but still bring lights anyway please. Maybe don’t bring your gravel bike.

Please complete the ride form in advance of the ride.

Snake Pass Improvements

A big thank you to Angus, Andrew, Ross B, Chris and Pete & sons and the Park Rangers for working on the lower section of Snake Pass/Snakey to fix the ruts and drainage problems.  From a test ride down it yesterday it felt solid and smooth.  Hopefully the work we’ve done will keep water off the path and any water that makes it on to the path will be diverted off.

The next maintenance session is planned for Sat. 16-April and will be up in the Khyber area of the park.

Here’s a few photos from Saturday’s effort for you to enjoy:

Path Maintenance Sign Ups

We all enjoy the riding that Mugdock Park has to offer.  So now it’s your chance to put something back in to the park with some good, honest graft to help maintain the paths.

The dates for path maintenance in Mugdock Park have now been agreed with the park ranger and are as follows – all dates are Saturdays and sessions will be from 10am to 2/3pm (you’re welcome to sign up for part of a day too).

If you’re interested in helping out then please sign up via the link below.  The form also contains an idea of the sort of work involved.  Feel free to share this with any friends who may be interested:
